One person handles your general liability insurance
General Liability Insurance
Protection when your business faces a third-party claim or lawsuit. Injury, damage, and the cost of defending the claim.
What it covers
- Injury or damage claims from third parties
- Accidents on your business property
- Liability from your products or services
- Lawsuit costs: defending an expensive claim
Who it suits
Any business with a storefront, a job site, clients on site, or products in customers’ hands. If someone can get hurt or something can break because of your business, start here. If a contract is telling you what insurance to buy, bring it.
What it does not cover
General liability does not cover mistakes in your professional work. That is a separate policy, called errors and omissions or professional liability insurance.
Worth knowing
Many contracts and leases ask for additional insured status and a certificate of insurance. Bring the contract when you request a quote.
Bring your contract. If a client, landlord, or venue requires specific limits, additional insured status, or waiver wording, include the insurance exhibit with your request. We will read the requirements and quote what is asked for.
